Description:
The CEC is comprised of volunteers from member libraries. Committee members will serve a three-year term beginning in October, running parallel with the NEFLIN fiscal year.
The CEC will meet bimonthly on the first Wednesday of even-numbered months (i.e. February, April, etc.). NEFLIN’s Continuing Education Coordinator will create an agenda for the meetings and distribute it to CEC members no later than one week prior to the upcoming meeting.
The CEC will be composed of a minimum of nine members.
Member roles and responsibilities:
- Advise the Continuing Education Coordinator on potential additions to the training schedule, including topics, specific classes and trainers
- Advise the Continuing Education Coordinator on potential additions to the Equipment and Lending Libraries
- Provide feedback from colleagues on current training offerings
- Assist in promotion of NEFLIN offerings within their library in such a manner as would not conflict with their normal duties or employer’s policies
- Assist NEFLIN staff at conferences and other events by helping with registration, room hosting and other duties as needed
Contribution to committee activities:
Members should be able to attend bimonthly Committee meetings. If a member misses three meetings in a row, NEFLIN may ask them to find a replacement member from their institution. Online attendance via GoToMeeting or similar methods is acceptable.
Each year, NEFLIN’s CE Committee recognizes member libraries with Continuing Education Awards, given at the NEFLIN Annual Meeting.
